The TDS Working Group
The Working Group will have 7 monthly meetings throughout the 2016-2017 academic year. We have a generous snack fund to supply coffee and bagels, thanks to support from the Center for Humanities!!
We are currently beginning plans to form a list of prospective working group topics.
Potential working group topics include:
- reading and responding to working drafts of papers, dissertation chapters, or recently published work by our group members
- practice conference presentations in advance of upcoming conferences
- developing a reading list on a particular theme or topic in disability studies (e.g. disability and LGBTIQ intersections; disability and policing; core texts in critical disability studies)
If you have an idea for a working group meeting, or will be looking for a forum to share your work, introduce a visiting colleague, or develop a syllabus or reading list using a working group meeting as a forum to do so, please contact a convenor about scheduling one of the monthly meetings.
We are also looking for an appropriate space to host our meetings, so please get in touch if you have a space in mind.
Finally, we need a group member to step up and fill the role of access coordinator for working group meetings. If you are interested, please contact the convenors. We will also host an online discussion forum about access best practices, and ask for personal access requests by email.
