What advice would you give to transfers who are currently at community college?

Get involved with academic program opportunities and participate as much as possible.

Why choose UC San Diego?

It was my first choice. Also destiny, my parents met on the UCSD fencing team.

What part of your transition was most difficult?

Balancing on campus work, study, and parenting (I have a young son). Different writing standards than community college.

Why choose the PATH Program?

It seemed like an excellent educational and social opportunity, almost too good to be true.

How has the PATH program helped you?

It helped me feel more confident and gave me a better understanding of the quarter system.

What was the most difficult part of the PATH Program for you?

The PATH program had a rigorous academic standard, but I was able to adapt and succeed.

Writing support at the Teaching + Learning Commons on floor 1 of Giesel Library.

What tips would you give future students about the UC San Diego campus?

Giesel Library Writing Center is a game changer, use as frequently as possible. Make sure to schedule appointments with academic advisers early.
