This art piece features a tree at the center of the canvas with it’s deep roots exposed. “Casa Familiar” is written on either side of the tree with bright colored paint splattered in the remaining white space. Casa Familiar is deeply rooted in its community. Their many programs are all aimed to help community and provide resource to combat social and economical injustices. The tree represents how Casa is always at the heart of the community doing what they can to help their community flourish. The splattering of paint is too show the vibrancy Casa brings. Casa is always filled with so much life inside and out. Throughout the 10 weeks I spent at Casa is truly felt like a family that accepted anyone and everyone. It was not exclusive, but inclusive. I felt right at home and I hope this art piece shows just strong Casa is.
