Writing Sample Document Submission

The Writing Hub is seeking sample writing projects–essays, research papers, lab reports, reading responses, etc.—to use in our tutor training session. We want to be sure that our writing mentors can handle the real issues that students face. Share your writing to help us improve our services!

Students who submit writing samples will be entered to win $50 or $25 gift cards good for use at the University Bookstore, Sunshine Market, or Perks Café.

To enter the drawing, please upload any formal writing project you have written for one of your college classes (or for grad school or scholarship applications). THIS DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A FINAL DRAFT–EARLIER DRAFTS ARE WELCOME. We are not looking for any quality, just for authentic student writing. Submit up to three documents for three separate chances to win.

All identifying information will be removed from your document to ensure anonymity before it is used by the Writing Hub.

In addition, if you consent, the Writing Hub will use your UCSD academic records and demographic information for research purposes. All records will be anonymized to protect your identity.

*Creative writing assignments (stories, poems, song lyrics, etc.) will not be accepted.

*Current and past Writing Hub employees are welcome to submit documents but will not be eligible to win gift cards. Winners of previous Writing Hub contests are also ineligible.
