This group is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive, collaborative, and critical Digital Humanities culture at UC San Diego. Students, faculty, and staff from all areas of campus are welcome to post relevant news, events, resources, and questions to the group forum.

We also have a smaller digital humanities research group, which facilitates communication about its bi-weekly meetings here: https://knit.ucsd.edu/groups/luddites.

Interactive Digital Storytelling with Twine! (A workshop)

      Interested in interactive digital storytelling? Want to create your own story-based game and show it off online? We are excited to have Twine expert and SDSU student Kristin Herr lead a workshop on Twine, an open-source tool for telling interactive, nonlinear stories. Twine can be used simply for powerful effect (check out this Twine story on driving in San Diego at night) or involve numerous different coding techniques.

      This workshop will consist of an introduction to Twine and a step by step tutorial for creating a “choose-your-own-adventure”-type Twine story. Participants will leave the workshop with their first Twine story and information about how to further develop more advanced Twine skills.

      No experience with computers or programming is necessary. We will provide computers with the software already downloaded but you may also download the freely available software if you desire on the Twine website.

      Please RSVP as we have limited space.
