Digital Humanities

Public Group active 3 years ago

This group is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive, collaborative, and critical Digital Humanities culture at UC San Diego. Students, faculty, and staff from all areas of campus are welcome to post relevant news, events, resources, and questions to the group forum.

We also have a smaller digital humanities research group, which facilitates communication about its bi-weekly meetings here: https://knit.ucsd.edu/groups/luddites.

Folks, the North American Wikipedia Conference is in town and plenty of interesting side events are popping up in support. I thought I’d pass on two here:

      • Philosophy scholars and enthusiasts will be gathering at the San Diego Public Library on Satuday for an edit-a-thon “to improve the site’s coverage of underrepresented philosophers and philosophy.” Read more here: http://blog.apaonline.org/2016/09/27/wikipedia-edit-a-thon/ (via @ctolley)
      • Wikipedia is hosting a “cultural crawl” this Friday (tomorrow) through Balboa Park. The event is open to the public but requires registration. Read more here: https://wikiconference.org/wiki/2016/Wiki_Culture_Crawl

      Happy weekend all!

I also should note that the four-day Wikipedia conference is open to the public as well! Will hope to see some of you there!
