I chose this picture because it depicts the racial discrimination of people of color in the United States Armed Forces. It did not matter which race a person was identified as, whether that person was black, Latino, Asian, or a Native American soldier. When discussing race and space in the classroom, what came to mind was when the Lemon Grove school board tried to build a separate school for the Mexican-American children.
