Volume Two includes swaths of text nominally from the Mingshi, supplemented by the Da Ming yitong zhi and with comments on Western sources. The entries on Liucheng 28/329/8527 and Huozhou 28/329/8528, for instance, are reasonably close to the Mingshi, with one or two words and a sentence left out; others differ more from the Mingshi.
