Welcome new students!
I’m incredibly happy and pumped for a whole new quarter to start and all that you will be able to gain as an FYE student! Firstly, as a past FYE student myself, this class has given me immense and valuable insight into navigating UCSD and forming connections and relationships with others, including my own Discussion Leader. My goals as your DL are to make sure you leave the classroom knowledgeable about on and off-campus resources and encourage your confidence in being involved in extracurricular activities. An advice I always give is that college is a time for immense personal growth and challenges and learning to believe in your abilities. You’re going to push the boundaries of what you think you’re capable of and I’m here to support you along the way!
Anyway, a little bit about myself: I’m a third-year Political Science major with a minor in Education Studies from Orange County. I go out of my way to eat the spicy version of everything and am incredibly passionate about education. I have various past and current leadership positions so don’t be afraid of asking how you can become involved! This year in addition to being your Discussion Leader, I am also a CASP Peer Leader, a Village RA, and part of a non-profit named Side by Side. Despite my busy schedule, don’t be afraid to reach out or go to my office hours if you are curious about anything at all or just want someone to chat with before your next class (you can also email or Facebook message me)!
