Crystal used Photoshop to model the fish slices, then pulled the pieces off while they were still hot to make the fins flowy and natural looking. Autodesk’s 123d make has a feature which slices any sort of 3D model into this lasercut friendly sort of format. Luckily we can 3D print the lasercutting slices, it just takes a LOT longer.
