This clip of music represents the music from 3022 in several ways. To start, the instrumental starts relatively slow. As the song goes on, the beat starts to get faster and louder, adding more layers to the song. Although the songs tend to be relatively long, each artist produces a completely original piece and shies away from any repetivity within their own song. There are no parts that repeat themselves within the song. The originality in each song allows us to stray away from the culture industry and its standardization. Furthermore, the instrumental is very powerful. The buildup within the song makes it very powerful as it becomes more and more intense. This is much different than the Capitalist USA in 2022. The music in 2022 tends to be very upbeat and repetitive. Artists were sampling other people’s songs and taking their ideas in order to try and make their songs popular. This standardization, where all the songs lack their own originality and creativity because of the fact they were using previous ideas and songs, was heavily criticized by Adorno in his book on popular culture. All of this was because of Capitalism. Specifically, the labor exploitation that went along with capitalism at the time. This labor exploitation made artists want to get as many listens as possible on their songs solely for the fact of making money. They were getting paid very little for the music and needed an abundance of listens in order to make just a little bit of money. Meanwhile in our socialist world in 3022, there are no private companies that suck all the money away from the artists. Essentially, labor exploitation has been diminished. Now, the artists get fair pay which allows them to truly have the freedom of creative expression. As a result, the listener is able to create a much deeper connection to the artist and their song.
