Naima Hagiismail is an UCSD grad who works at the Barrio Logan College Institute (BLCI) at El Cajon for high school students. She was born in the UAE where her father is from Somalia and her mother is from Yemen. She talked about her experience at BLCI and a bit about the history. She also emphasized on the needs of having BLCI at El Cajon. She also has a background in Molecular biology as well as Public health, so her talk focussed on the effect of community and regions in Public health as well. This interview covered topics such as immigrant life, public health, underrepresentation of communities in San Diego and BLCI. This interview was conducted via Zoom in order to get the transcript of the recording as well as to save time and effort.
