Laura Lopez Camacho is a San Diego native and Master’s Social Work student at SDSU specializing in community development and administration. Laura shared the experiences and insights in this oral history interview. Laura is involved in a year-long internship at the Barrio Logan College Institute (BLCI), where Laura focuses on providing therapeutic and counseling services to youth and their families. Through the work, Laura addresses challenges like low student motivation, domestic issues, and mental health struggles, aiming to connect them with essential resources and improve their life conditions.
