Grace Hernandez, pronouns (she/her), is a sixth grader attending Coronado Middle High School and is also a student at Barrio Logan College Institute. Although Grace is very young still, she was excited to talk about her story. She was exposed to racism and to suspicious neighborhoods at such a young age. Grace shares the events in her life that made her into what she is today. Grace talks about where her family is from, the food from her hometown, the community she currently lives in, and the racism she has experienced. I met Grace at the Barrio Logan College Institute site, where I was searching and uncovering a student’s history and background. The interview was conducted at the Barrio Logan College Institute site with the interviewer and interviewee in the same room using Zoom to record. The interview was conducted by Juntao (John) Wu, a third year biochemistry major at UCSD.
