The University of California concluded its negotiations for the renewal of its systemwide license with scholarly journal publisher Elsevier. Ultimately, the UC decided against signing a new contract with Elsevier as the publisher’s most recent proposal did not include any cap on total amount UC faculty could end up paying in article publishing fees.
