Pedro Rios, who’s hometown is San Diego, uses he/him pronouns and he is part of the American Friends Service Committee’s U.S/Mexico Border. This interview contains information about what he thinks about the issues and policies pertaining to the border. It shows his experience on what he has experienced and felt about during the COVID-19 pandemic both inside of his workspace and inside of his daily life. This interview covers topics such as inaction violence across the border and policies during each president’s administration. I have met the interviewee through the connections of the Detention Resistance. The interview was conducted via Zoom in order to practice social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The interview was conducted by Aya Yanga, a third year Marine Biology major at UCSD who is interested in the thought process of someone that works in the border program.

This was such an insightful interview! It brought to light a lot of the controversy surrounding the horrible conditions immigrants and migrants are being put through at the US border near San Diego.
