Members of the project exhibited the timeline banners and set up a feedback board at a free speech event organized by Beagle RA, Sudarshan Srinivasan, from Revelle College. Members of the project presented the student activism timeline as part of the Social Science Division training for incoming Teaching Assistants (SS TA Training) to help prepare them to teach Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion courses. “One of our goals is to help incoming graduate students to understand some of the events that occurred during 2010, and the student activism that helped lead to changes on campus (including the DEI requirement). Tell Us How UC It: A Living Archive debuted with an exhibit in the UC San Diego Library from February 1 – March 31, 2017 that included a history of student activism timeline, a selection of the creative work from students expressing their experience of the campus climate, and an area for visitor feedback.
