The Value of an Arts and Humanities Degree

The University of California San Diego is recognized as a predominantly Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) campus; however it has a strong Arts and Humanities department as well. The value of attaining a bachelor’s degree in the Arts and Humanities is being recognized by scholars outside of the field. They are discovering that a degree in the Arts and Humanities provides potential employees with enhanced analytical thinking, practical communication skills and a “human touch” that allows them to connect with others (Jones, 2019). This is being recognized across the country and programs have even begun to implement joint majors involving a humanities degree. Below are included 15 articles that provide more insight to the importance of Arts and Humanities degrees.
